Food Screening Panel (fx5)
The Food Screening Panel (fx5) is a quick, efficient first-line test for the six most common food allergens. It is an ideal starting point for proactive allergy assessment as part of a preventive health panel.
What It Measures
This panel measures combined specific IgE antibodies against six common food allergens: egg white, cow's milk, cod, wheat, peanut, and soybean. A positive result indicates sensitisation to at least one of these allergens.
Why It Matters
These six allergens account for a significant proportion of food allergies worldwide. A negative fx5 result can efficiently rule out sensitisation to these common triggers, while a positive result guides targeted follow-up testing.
When to Test
This panel is useful as a first-line screening tool when food allergy is suspected but the specific trigger is unknown. It is also used in paediatric allergy evaluation. Consult your healthcare provider for guidance.
Lifestyle Tips
If specific allergens are identified, strict avoidance combined with nutritional guidance from a dietitian ensures safe and balanced eating. Always carry prescribed emergency medication if you have confirmed food allergies with risk of anaphylaxis.
