5 markersThe InsideTracker Inflammation blood test measures the blood values InsideTracker uses to score inflammation: hs-CRP, a complete blood count including the white cell differential, vitamin D and ferritin. Here you buy exactly that panel, drawn at a certified Dutch lab.
Low-grade inflammation is usually not something you feel, but it is measurable. These values map your inflammation status and your immune cells.
Why this test?
InsideTracker gives members an Inflammation score from 0 to 100, calculated from a fixed set of blood values. If you search for InsideTracker in the Netherlands, you usually want those values measured without a membership and without shipping a sample to the United States.
This blood test is that alternative: the same blood values behind the Inflammation category, drawn at a certified Dutch lab and returned digitally in your account, with an assessment by a BIG-registered doctor.
Who is this test for?
This panel may suit people who want to track their inflammation status objectively. It can be relevant for:
- People who want to follow up a previously elevated CRP value
- People with recurring infections who want their immune cells mapped
- People with unexplained fatigue, alongside their GP's advice
- People who want the InsideTracker Inflammation category measured in the Netherlands
What is tested?
This panel measures 5 blood values, of which the blood count itself contains dozens of underlying values:
- Inflammation protein: hs-CRP, the sensitive measure of low-grade inflammation.
- Immune cells: a Complete Blood Count with Leukocyte Differential: neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils and basophils.
- Vitamins and iron status: Vitamin D and Ferritin, which reacts as an inflammation protein besides storing iron.
What can this test tell you?
The results show how your inflammation protein, your white blood cells and your vitamin D compare to the reference ranges. The combination is informative: an elevated CRP with elevated ferritin points to something different than an elevated CRP with normal other values.
If you want to look beyond inflammation alone, our InsideTracker blood test measures 36 blood values in one go. Keep in mind that a single value is not a diagnosis.
How is the sample collected?
For this blood test, a staff member draws a small tube of blood at a certified location. You can choose from 700+ collection sites, so there is almost always a location near you.
You only need your appointment confirmation and a valid ID. The draw usually takes just a few minutes.
When is this test useful?
Some people choose to measure these values:
- When they want to check a previously elevated inflammation value
- When they catch colds or flu often and want their immune system mapped
- When they feel tired for a long time and want an objective starting point
- When they want to follow the effect of lifestyle changes on their inflammation status
What do the results mean?
What the results mean depends on your personal situation. A temporarily elevated CRP can be caused by a simple cold; the pattern across several values and measurements is what carries information.
Always discuss any deviating values with your GP, so you know what the results may mean for you personally.
Preparation
Fasting is not needed for this panel. If you are ill or recovering from an infection, plan the draw a few weeks later: a recent infection temporarily raises your inflammation values.
Drink enough water on the day of the draw. If in doubt, discuss your situation with your GP.
What happens after the results?
You receive your results digitally in your account, usually within a few working days. For each value, you can see whether it falls within the reference range.
Every blood test result includes a professional assessment from a BIG-registered doctor. For treatment decisions, discuss your results with your GP.

What We Test
This health panel includes 5 biomarkers to give you a comprehensive picture of your health.
Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin that plays a key role in calcium absorption, bone health, and immune function. It is primarily produced in the skin through sunlight exposure and can also be obtained from certain foods and supplements.
Learn moreFerritin is a protein that stores iron, so your ferritin level shows how large your iron reserve is. Serum iron only measures how much iron is circulating in your blood at that moment; ferritin describes the reserve behind it. That reserve empties before your haemoglobin falls, so a low ferritin can already cause symptoms while your blood count still looks normal. Ferritin also rises with inflammation, infection and liver strain, which is why it can only be read properly alongside a CRP. Commonly used reference values are 30 to 400 µg/l for men and 15 to 150 µg/l for women, but your own laboratory report is what counts.
Learn moreC-Reactive Protein (CRP) is a protein produced by the liver in response to inflammation. It is a general marker of inflammation and can rise rapidly during infections, injuries, or chronic inflammatory conditions.
Learn moreA leukocyte differential test measures the relative proportions of different types of white blood cells in your blood. It provides a detailed breakdown of your immune cell populations, offering valuable insight into your immune system's function.
Learn moreA complete blood count (CBC) is a comprehensive blood test that evaluates the major components of your blood: red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. It is one of the most commonly ordered blood tests and provides a broad overview of your overall health.

ASTO (Antistreptolysin O)
ASO testing helps detect post-streptococcal complications early. Including it in your health screening supports timely intervention and preventive care.
Active Vitamin B12
Active Vitamin B12 measures the bioavailable form of B12 your body can readily absorb and use. Monitoring this marker may help you stay informed about your nutritional status and overall energy levels.
Basic Blood Count
A basic blood count measures three core values in your blood: hemoglobin, white blood cells and platelets. Together they say something about oxygen transport, immune defence and clotting. It is a simple baseline check, without the red-cell indices and white-cell differential of a complete blood count.
Basophils
Does your result say basophil granulocytes? Those are white blood cells, and there are fewest of these. In adults the basophil granulocyte value sits between 0 and 0.2 x10⁹/l. That is 0 to 2 percent of your white blood cells. A low value or a zero is normal and means nothing. A rise above 0.2 is uncommon and usually calls for a repeat first. That is because the machine counts this particular cell poorly. Below you can read in plain language what your number means. And when to take it to your GP.
Bicarbonate
Bicarbonate is essential for maintaining acid-base balance. Monitoring this electrolyte helps detect metabolic imbalances early and supports overall health management.
Blood Type + Rh
A blood type test determines your ABO blood group and Rh factor. Knowing your blood type is essential for safe blood transfusions, organ transplants, and pregnancy planning.
